Gold Team Completes Series Sweep With 5-1 Victory
BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Gold squad finished the sweep of the Crimson team with a 5-1 victory on Friday to wrap up baseball's fall season.
Jake Wade picked up the win after pitching 3 innings, with 0 hits and 4 strikeouts. Mark Smith, Christian Armstrong and John Bayse each hurled one shutout inning of relief for the Gold as they limited the Crimson squad to just five hits.
Wade also led the offense, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Devon Snow and Andy Chrismer each finished 1-for-3 with one run batted in.
For the Crimson team Kevin Kirk, Blake Stokely, Adam Utz, Jonathan Mason and Alex Nuttycombe each finished with one hit.
The Crimson team will serve dinner to the Gold team Tuesday evening in the KCC.
