Gold Team Takes 2-0 Lead In Crimson-Gold World Series

Three Gold squad pitchers combined on a two-hitter Tuesday to lead the Gold to a 7-3 victory in Game 2 of the Crimson-Gold World Series.

The Gold finished with nine hits, led by Andy Chrismer who was 1-for-2 with a two-run triple. Jonathan Delange was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Christian Armstrong was 1-for-2 with one run batted in. Brett Howell finished 1-for-3 with one run batted in

Armstrong was the winning pitcher, going three hitless innings with one strikeout. Chris Baird pitched 2.2 innings and allowed just one and three runs while Jake Wade finished up, allowing no runs and one hit in the final 1.1 innings. Wade struck out three batters.

Jonathan Mason had both of the Cardinal team's hits. Zach Folger turned in a solid outing on the bump, allowing four hits and two runs.

The Gold now leads the best of three series 2-0, but the Cardinal can still win if it can win Game 3 by 12 runs or more. The third and final game is set for Friday afternoon.
