Eagles Drop Game To Christopher Newport

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Christopher Newport took the lead with three runs in the third inning and pulled away for an 11-1 victory Tuesday over Bridgewater College.

After two scoreless innings to start the game, the Captains got to Eagles' starter Jordan Showalter in the third. The big blow was a two-run homer by Nicholas Baham that put CNU ahead 3-0.

The Captains broke the game open with four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to lead 10-0.

Bridgewater scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo homer by Jacob Grabeel.

The Eagles, now 8-3 on the season, are back in action Wednesday against Penn College.
