Eagles Riders Finish Third In Region; Leonard Moves On To Zone Finals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Bridgewater College finished third in the region and Katie Leonard qualified for the zones finals during Sunday's regional show hosted by the University of Virginia.

Hollins University won the regional championship by a large margin and Lynchburg slipped by Bridgewater College by a small margin of two points to end up Reserve Champion for the region. Bridgewater finished third for the year followed by Sweet Briar College and Washington and Lee. Randolph College and the University of Virginia tied for sixth, followed by James Madison University, Longwood University, Radford University  and Liberty University.

Two Bridgewater College riders qualified for regionals that were held following the regular competition in the afternoon. Katie Etter is studying abroad and was unable to attend. Katie Leonard finished Reserve Champion in the Novice Fences for our region and will represent Bridgewater College in the Zone competitions in April.
