Bridgewater Riders Claim Ribbons At Culpeper Show
CULPEPER, Va. - Six Bridgewater College riders and horses attended a very successful horse show in Culpeper the weekend of April 23-25. The competition was the biggest April show ever held at Commonwealth Park.
The results were as follows:
Lindsay Ferguson was the Adult Amateur Hunter Champion aboard her beautiful chestnut gelding Amulet. She was also the Reserve Champion Adult Equitation winner for that division.
Caitlin Hewitt rode her young bay gelding Rio's Dancer to capture the win in the under saddle class for the Schooling Adult Hunter Division, a second in the Adult on the Flat, as well as a sixth and an eight in the Adult Hunter over fences classes. She rode beautifully to take the blue ribbon in the VHSA Adult Medal Class. This was her second win in the VHSA Medal this Spring, qualifying her for the VHSA Year End Final.
Freshman rider Brianne Sullivan rode her horse Something Good to a fourth in the Adult Equitation on the Flat, a sixth over fences and a sixth in the Adult Hunter under Saddle.
Another Freshman McKenna Snidow, riding Bridgewater College's own Traveler placed seventh in the Adult Equitation on the Flat, and was fifth in the VHSA Medal.
Sophomore Julie Freund, riding her own mare Corlandra, finished fourth in the Low Adult Jumper Class against 27 other competitors.
