Riders Finish Second At Randolph IHSA Show

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College equestrian team finished as reserve champion Friday at the Randolph College IHSA show.

The Eagles finished the day with 28 points, trailing Randolph by five points. The showing keeps Bridgewater in second place in the region standings and closes the gap between first and second place as the Eagles gained eight points on first-place Lynchburg.

In the open divisions, Shelby Goodman paced the Eagles with a second place effort in Open Over Fences. In Open on the Flat, Taylor Rose rode to a third-place finish.

Chelsea Hames placed third in Intermediate Over Fences, just ahead of teammate Rose in fourth place. Sarah Black placed fifth for the Eagles in the Intermediate on the Flat.

Bridgewater picked up two places in Novice Over Fences with Tara Deckel placing fifth and Black taking sixth. Lauren Casey rode to a first-place finish in Novice on the Flat and Jamie Robinson added a fifth-place effort in the class.

Savannah English picked up Bridgewater's second first-place finish by winning the advanced walk-trot-canter division and Corrie Fitz closed out the Eagles' scoring with a second-place showing in walk-trot.
