Bridgewater Riders Place First At Hollins IHSA Show

ROANOKE, Va. - The Bridgewater College riding team finished Saturday's competition with 39 points to place first at the Hollins University IHSA Show. With the victory, the Eagles also took over the lead in the region points standings. Hollins finished second at the show with 35 points.

Individually, Lauren Casey received the high-point rider honor while Taylor Rose was reserve high-point rider.

Rose placed second in Open Over Fences to get the day started for the Eagles. Alex Szucs placed fourth in Intermediate Over Fences and Danielle Wolklin finished fifth in the class. In Novice Over Fences, Emmy Rhodes and Casey both posted first-place finishes.

On the flat, Rose added a first place and Emily Manos placed fourth in the open division.  Casey finished first in Intermediate on the Flat, while Kayla Deyarmin was first and Szucs was third in Novice on the Flat.

Leslie Allen placed third in advanced walk-trot-canter while Kara Sims was first and Adrien Green fourth in walk-trot.

The next IHSA event for the Eagles riders will be Nov. 3 when they host a show at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center.
