Bridgewater Riders Place Sixth At Sweet Briar Show

SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Bridgewater College placed sixth Saturday in IHSA competition hosted by Sweet Briar College. Hollins placed first in the show with 36 points, just ahead of Lynchburg with 34.

Despite the sixth-place finish, the Eagles are just six points our of the top spot in the regional standings. Hollins leads Lynchburg by four four points in the current standings.

In the open divisions, Taylor Rose placed third and Emily Manos was sixth over fences. Rose and Dana Paulding competed on the flat with Rose finishing in fourth place.

In the intermediate classes, Alex Szucs was sxith and Emmy Rhodes won her division over fences. Lauren Casey and Danielle Wolklin competed on the flat with Wolklin placing fifth.

In novice over fences Jackie Tremblay won her in her first IHSA appearance while Casey placed fifth. In novice on the flat Bridgewater had a strong showing with Szucs placing first while Juliana Peterson got a second in each of their respective divisions.

In the advanced walk-trot-canter division Leslie Allen was fourth and Ashley Shipe placed sixth. In the walk-trot division Shea Sutherland finished third while Adrien Green finished second in their respective classes.
