CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - While the Bridgewater ridng team came up short in its quest for a third straight regional title, the Eagles did qualify four riders to move on to the Zones show later this spring.
The Eagles entered Sunday's final show at the University of Virginia just two points out of first place in the regional standings, Following Sunday morning's competition, the Eagles had slipped to fourth in the final team standings. U.Va. finished first in the region, followed by Randolph, Sweet Briar and Bridgewater.
Sunday afternoon, U.Va. hosted the region's individual competition and four of Bridgewater's riders qualified for the next stage of competition at the Zones finals.
Moving on for Bridgewater were Taylor Rose in Open on the Flat, Juliana Peterson in Intermediate on the flat, Kayla Deyarmin in Intermediate Over Fences and Kara Sims in Walk-Trot.
These four riders will compete in the IHSA Zones Finals on April 6 in Fredericksburg.
