Bridgewater Rides To Second-Place Finish At BCEC

WEYERS CAVE, Va. - The Bridgewater College riding team took the reserve team title Saturday at the fall IHSA show hosted by the Eagles at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center.

The Eagles finished the show with 35 points, just one point behind Washington and Lee University. Saturday's result also moved the Eagles into a first-place tie with Randolph College in the region standings.

The Eagles started off strong in the first class of the day when points rider Adrien Green took first place in Walk-Trot.

Kara Sims followed by adding points in the Walk-Trot-Canter division with a fourth-place finish. Also in Walk-Trot-Canter Meagan Escobar added a second-place.

Zachary Hinch added points in both novice classes. Hinch placed second on the flat and fourth over fences. Taylor Parker had a solid ride in Novice on the Flat with a fifth-place finish.

Michaela Bragg turned in a strong ride in Intermediate on the Flat to earn second-place points for the Bridgewater riders. Kayla Deyarmin finished fourth in Intermediate on the flat.

Taylor Rose finished off the Eagles scoring for the show with a first-place ride in Open on the Flat and a second-place finish in Open Over Fences. Emily Manos was also stellar in the open classes with second-place efforts on the flat and over fences.

The Bridgewater IHSA team returns to action on Nov. 16 for a show hosted by Sweet Briar College.
