Bridgewater Riders Win Fall IHSA Show

WEYERS CAVE, Va. - Bridgewater College put forth a total team effort Saturday as the riders hosted and won their fall IHSA show at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center.

The Eagles finished with a total of 33 points to claim first place. Hollins and the University of Virginia tied for second place with 30 points, one point ahead of Randolph College.

Bridgewater's Zellie Wothers was the show's high-point rider as she finished first in Intermediate on the Flat and second in Intermediate Over Fences. Also placing in the Intermediate division were Emily Thomas, who placed fourth on the flat, and Nicole Hylton who took third over fences.

Samantha Van Winter competed in the Open Division and placed third over fences.

In Novice on the Flat, Meagan Escobar and Alex Willard earned second-place ribbons. Willard was making her IHSA debut. Katelyn Dugan placed fifth in Novice on the Flat. In Novice Over Fences, Tori Capuano finished third and Laurin Watts placed fifth.

Hannah Engle took the first-place ribbon in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter and her teammate Jordan Criss finished second.

In the Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter division, Michaela Jeuick earned the first-place ribbon.

Taylor Pattie placed first in Walk-Trot and Jessi Scoggin placed sxith in her IHSA debut.
