FOREST, Va. - The final tallies are in for week two of the ODAC Football Play of the Week fan poll. Bridgewater College earns its second straight win to open the season- much like on the field- behind a bit of "trickeration" from punter Plato Eliades.
Early in the first quarter of Bridgewater's 25-23 upset of then 18th-ranked Thomas More, Eliades helped the Eagles put their first points on the board. Eliades executed a perfect fake-punt rush to pick up first down yardage. A few plays later, BC would punch it in for a touchdown and convert for two points to go ahead, 8-0.
It's the third straight ODAC Play of the Week poll where fans selected Bridgewater, two of which came on special teams. Joshua Cretaro's fake PAT vs. Catholic won in the 2016 season finale, and Corey Jochim's game-winning TD vs. Gettysburg was the overwhelming winner in week one.
This week's five nominees garnered more that 5,400 interactions on the ODAC website, YouTube, and various other social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) outlets. Eliades' fake punt received more than 51-percent of the fan vote.
