Field Hockey Edges Roanoke, 2-1, In Regular Season Finale
SALEM, Va. - Bridgewater College closed out the regular season Saturday with a hard fought 2-1 victory at Roanoke College in ODAC field hockey action.
The Eagles took the lead late in the first half when Christina Pybus scored off the assist from Brianna Jacques, giving BC a 1-0 lead at the half.
The Eagles maintained the lead until Roanoke's Helen Pearsall knooted the score with eight minutes left to play.
Bridgewater answered with game-winner with five minutes remaining when Pybus found Allison Carr for the deciding goal.
The teams were even in shots with 11 apience and shots on goal with four apiece.
Bridgewater is now 9-8 overall and 2-5 in the ODAC.
