YORK, Pa. - York College opened the game up after halftime, beating the Bridgewater field hockey team 4-0 on Wednesday in Pennsylvania.

Ali Posey took the insert from Beth Patrick on an early corner and ripped a shot into the cage to put York ahead in the opening five minutes.

The game remained 1-0 for the rest of the half, with York out-shooting the Eagles 7-2 in the period but winning just three more corners and mostly being held at bay by the BC defense.

York broke things open with three goals in the first 17 minutes of the second half however.

Lopez made a defensive save on Patrick on the opening corner of the second half, but the Spartans earned another corner. Patrick slid a pass over to Autumn Mallory to double the hosts' lead.

York quickly earned two more corners and then scored a few minutes later through Greta Plappert.

The Spartans added one more midway through the second half as Dana Meehling slotted home a loose ball.

Bridgewater is 5-9 and will have 10 days off before an important ODAC match at Washington & Lee on Saturday, October 21.
