Gahman’s Five Under Leads Golfers on Day One at Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Senior Travis Gahman carded a five-under, 65, to lead the Bridgewater Eagles golf team after the opening round of the 41st Annual Marine Corps Intercollegiate on Camp Lejeune's Par 70 Scarlet course. Bridgewater shot a team total of two-under, 278.

Sophomore Matt Dye was also solid on the opening day, turning in a new career-low round with a one-under, 69.

Junior Tod Foshee carded a one-over, 71, for his lowest round of the season, topping his previous single-low round of 72 turned in on March 19 at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.

Senior John Phillips rounded out the scoring quartet for the Eagles with a three-over, 73, after 18 holes.

Fellow senior Bobby Fields also competed for the Eagles and also set a new career-low round with a five-over, 75. Fields' 75 bested his previous low round by four strokes.

The Eagles are back in action on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. on the par 72, Camp Lejeune Gold Championship course.
