Eagles Miss Championship Cut at Marine Corps Intercollegiate

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Senior John Phillips carded a two-under, 70, to lead the Bridgewater Eagles golf team on day two of the 41st Annual Marine Corps Intercollegiate at the Camp Lejeune Scarlet course.

Bridgewater missed the championship cut, finished the second round with a team total of 305. The Eagles are the third-best team heading to Sunday's consolation championship final on the Scarlet course.

Aside from Phillips' 70 round, sophomore Matt Dye finished at three-over, 75, to finish as the second-best golfer for the Eagles over the second round of the tournament.

Senior Travis Gahman carded a seven-over, 79, to be the third best player in the clubhouse for the Eagles while junior Bobby Fields rounded out the scoring quartet with an 11-over, 81.

Junior Tod Foshee also competed and finished the second day at +12, 84.

Bridgewater wraps up the 41st Marine Corps Annual Intercollegiate with an early morning shotgun start.
