CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Bridgewater College men's golf qualified for the championship round of the Marines Corps Intercollegiate, with a second round team score of 281.
Over the first two rounds, teams play once each on the par-70 Scarlet short course and the more difficult par-72 Gold course. The top 16 teams play for the championship Sunday on the Gold course while the bottom half will close out on the Scarlet.
The Eagles had already done much of the hard work with an impressive 306 on the Gold course Friday. They followed it up with a 281 on Saturday to sit in ninth place overall, two strokes behind eighth-place Skidmore and 33 strokes behind leaders Methodist.
After tying for second best score in Friday's Gold course round, Ocean Armstrong kept it going with a career-best 67 on Friday. He is tied for seventh overall out of 153 players.
Ronald Uszenski carded a 70 on Saturday, giving him a two-day score of 146.
Jeremy Pannebaker shot 71 on Saturday, with Luke Hill carding a 73.
Sophomore Michael Gruver shot a 75.
As one of the top 16 teams, the Eagles will play on the longer Gold course Sunday.
