2010 Don Burgess Boys and Girls Basketball Camps

Session 1: June 14-18, 2010 - "Little Eagles Camp"
Session 2: June 21-25, 2010
Session 3: August 2-6, 2010

General Information

Session 1 "Little Eagles Camp"
  • Open to boys and girls ages 4-7 years old
  • Camp runs from 9:00 am to 11:30 am
  • Fundamental skill work
  • Develop social and communication skills while learning basic basketball skills
  • Each camper will receive a camp basketball t-shirt, snack, and certificate
  • Camper to staff ratio: 8 to 1

    Session 2 & 3
  • Open to boys & girls ages 8-16 years old
  • Half day camp runs from 9:00 to noon.
  • Full day camp runs from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Full day campers will be served lunch
  • Campers are grouped according to age, size, and ability
  • Includes daily instruction, T-shirt, and camp basketball
  • Daily contests, 3 on 3 games, and 5 on 5 games (full day)
  • Full Day and Half Day camp options available.
  • Camper to staff ratio: 10:1
  • Campers may arrive as early as 8:30 am and stay as late as 4:30 pm
  • Last day of camp concludes at noon on June 25th and August 6th after the awards ceremony
  • Full Day registration will be held on the first morning beginning at 8:00 in Nininger Hall

    Facilities
    Camp sessions will be held in Nininger Hall on the campus of Bridgewater College

    Don Burgess - Head Men's Basketball Coach, Bridgewater College
    Coach Burgess is a native of Harrisonburg and attended Harrisonburg High School and had a standout career at Radford University. He just completed his second season as the Head Coach at BC where his team had the 10th toughest schedule in the country. He has been involved in college athletics for over 18 years. Having worked camps nationwide, he brings camp experience, incredible knowledge, and enthusiasm to his basketball camps.

    Camp Co-Director
    Alvin Green - Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, Bridgewater College
    Coach Green completed his second season as Assistant Coach for the Eagles. He played collegiate ball at Coastal Carolina University and he spent 2005 conducting basketball clinics in several countries in Africa and South America.

    Cost
    Session I - "Little Eagles Camp" - $90.00
    Session 2 & 3 - Full Day - $195.00 - or Half Day - $95.00
