Eagles Shut Out Emory & Henry 3-0

EMORY, Va. - The Bridgewater Eagles picked up a big conference victory Saturday night as they blanked Emory & Henry, 3-0.

The teams battled on even terms for most of the first half, but the Eagles finally broke through with less than five minutes left before the break. Kevin Gorman (Annapolis, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) took a pass from the right side from Derek Newsome (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and finished to the back post, giving BC a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles emerged from the halftime break and added their second goal when Sawyer Janes (Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) beat the Wasps keeper for a 2-0 Bridgewater advantage.

Bridgewater added its final goal in the 66th minute when a pass from Janes from the right side found the foot of Adam Riner (Gordonsville, Va./Louisa) and Riner deposited the ball into the middle of the net for the final margin.

Bridgewater keeper Travis Morris (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded the shutout. Morris faces eight shots and finished with a pair of saves.

The Eagles are now 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the ODAC.
