SALEM, Va. - Bridgewater College played a strong first half Wednesday night against Roanoke College, but the conference-leading Maroons pulled away in the second half for a 3-0 victory.
The Eagles were within striking distance at the break, trailing the ODAC's top team by just one goal, 1-0. Roanoke held a slim 7-4 edge in shots in the first half.
The Maroons, however, controlled play in the second half as they added a pair of goals and outshot the Eagles by an 11-0 margin.
BC keeper Travis Morris (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished the night with eight saves.
The Eagles are now 6-9-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the ODAC. Bridgewater travels to Guilford College on Saturday evening for a key ODAC matchup. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
