Gorman Lands Spot On VaSID All-State First Team

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College senior midfielder Kevin Gorman was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division Men's Soccer All-State first team released Wednesday.

Gorman, a second-team all-state pick in 2011, helped lead the Eagles to their first 10-win season since 2005 as the team finished with a 10-8 overall record. He tied for the team lead in goals scored with five and was second on the team in assists with four. Gorman recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in the Eagles 2-1 win over nationally-ranked Salisbury. He also registered a hat trick during an 11-minute span in the second half in a 3-1 victory over Stevenson. Gorman was also named to the All-ODAC first team earlier this season.

Christopher Newport University sophomore forward was named the state Player of the Year. Roanoke's Scott Allison was tabbed Coach of the Year and Bluefield's Erik Albarran was named Rookie of the Year.
