Generals Blank Eagles 2-0 In ODAC Men's Soccer First-Round Tournament Game

Bridgewater college forward Julian Ofori had the Eagles lone shot on goal against W&L.

LEXINGTON - Washington and Lee scored in the first minute of play Saturday afternoon and the Generals went on to defeat Bridgewater 2-0 in the opening round of the ODAC men's soccer tournament.

The Generals scored quickly when Harry Pinkerton crossed a ball into the middle of the box and Harris Salon finished for a goal just 37 seconds in to put the hosts on top 1-0.

The scored remained 1-0 until the the 74th minute when the Generals added an insurance goal. Dylan cross a ball into the middle of the box and Kevin Lencioni tapped the ball into the goal for a 2-0 W&L lead.

The Generals finished the contest with a 30-4 advantage in total shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Eagles' goalkeeper Quentin Boric fnished the contest with 11 saves. Julian Ofori had the only shot on goal for the Eagles.

With the loss, Bridgewater ends the 2017 season with a 7-10-1 overall record.
