LEXINGTON, Va. – In a match that was moved to Washington and Lee University, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team rolled through doubles before taking two wins in singles play to earn a 5-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan to advance to the semifinals of the ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament.

The tandem of Brad DeWitt and Teddy Callow rolled at number one doubles to post an 8-1 victory, getting the Eagles off on the right foot.

Sophomore Peter Hawkins teamed up with junior Brent Floyd to notch an 8-4 victory at number two, before senior Tim Gower and teammate Drew Hubble picked up an 8-5 win at number three to put the Eagles ahead 3-0 as things shifted to singles.

Hawkins remained perfect on the day to inch the Eagles closer to the win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number one singles. The win was Hawkins' seventh straight.

Finally, Callow matched Hawkins' winning streak with a 6-3, 6-0 win at number four singles to give Bridgewater the easy 5-0 victory. Callow is now tied with Floyd for the most singles wins on the year with 14.

Bridgewater, now 14-6 on the season, is next in action on Friday when it heads back to Washington and Lee to take on the winner of Tuesday evening's matchup with two-seed Hampden-Sydney and seven-seed Guilford. Virginia Wesleyan wrapped up the season with a 4-12 overall record.
