BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Mapp Courts with an 8-1 victory Sunday afternoon over Virginia Wesleyan.
The Eagles swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead.
Kyle Harfield and Thomas Rishcoff put the Eagles on the board as they blanked Joe Holloway and Paul Gladstone 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Eagles' seniors Hartfield and Rishcoff closed out the match with wins in singles play. Rishcoff blanked Gunther 6-0, 6-0 to win at No. 3 whil Hartfield took a 6-3, 6-1 win over Gladstone at the No. 1 slot.
Dillenbeck had the closest singles win for the Eagles as he turned back Kelleher 7-6, 6-3. Rodgers defeatd Andreas Combos 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 and Horner took a 6-1, 6-0 win over Holloway at No. 5.
Virginia Wesleyan's Morgan downed Eagles' senior Kyle Bowers 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles to claim the lone point of the match for the Marlins.
Bridgewater finishes in second place in the conference standings with a 9-1 ODAC record.
Pairings and match times for the upcoming conference tournament will be announced by the ODAC office.
