Men's Tennis Travels To Virginia Wesleyan For First-Round Matchup

FOREST, Va. - Bridgewater College is seeded No. 5 for the upcoming ODAC men's tennis tournament and the Eagles will travel to Virginia Wesleyan for a first-round match on Wednesday.

Virginia Wesleyan defeated the Eagles in the regular season by a score of 6-3 in a close matchup. The Marlins won two of the three doubles matches to get off to a quick start and doubles play on Wednweday could be a determining factor. Bridgewater won the point at No. 3 where Emmett Johnson and Kris Stokes were victorious. The top two matches in doubles were competitive and should be closely contested again in tournament play.

In singles action, Bridgewater took the points at the top of the ladder with wins by Joe Dillenbeck at No. 1 and Josh Rodgers at No. 2. The Marlins won the remaining four contests to clinch the regular season victory.

The winner of Wednesday's contest advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of the No. 8 Shenandoah at No. 1 Washington and Lee matchup. The seminfinals and championship will be played at Virginia Wesleyan.
