Men’s Indoor Track and Field Picked Second in Coaches Poll

FOREST, Va. –The Bridgewater College men's indoor track and field team was picked second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track and Field Coaches Poll released by the conference office on Friday.

The Eagles finished the 2011-2012 season third in the ODAC and come into the 2013 season earning 41 points in the poll.

Senior Eugene Cummings returns for the Eagles along with junior Daryus Beale. Cummings placed second in the long jump at the ODAC Championships last year and Beale placed second in the 60-meter hurdles.

Senior Ryan Speray and sophomore Luke Sohl return for Bridgewater in the distance events. At the 2012 Indoor ODAC Championships, Speray completed the mile run in third place and Sohl finished fourth in the 5000-meter run.

Lynchburg College was voted to finish first by the coaches after earning the conference title last season.

Washington and Lee earned one first place vote but came in behind the Eagles in third place with 38 points. Roanoke College and Virginia Wesleyan College round out the top five spots in the poll.

Bridgewater opens the season Saturday at the Liberty University Kickoff in Lynchburg, Va.
