Monteleone Leads Men’s Track and Field at Liberty Kickoff Meet

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Bridgewater College freshman Pete Monteleone finished the triple jump in fifth place to lead the way for the men's track and field team on Saturday at the Liberty University Kickoff meet.

Monteleone earned fifth place with a distance of 43 feet, 1/4 inch and fellow freshman Adam Butler took sixth place with a distance of 42 feet, 3 1/4 inches.

Monteleone also placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 11 and 3/4 inches. Butler and freshman Bryan Kenward tied in the high jump for 13th place with a height of five feet and eight and 1/2 inches.

Freshman Sam Gunther finished the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.91 seconds and earned 16th place. Freshman Ethan McBryde earned 27th place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.74 seconds.

Gunther completed the 400 meter dash in 52.16 seconds and earned 10th place to wrap up the meet for the Eagles.

The men will take some time off for the holiday season and return to action on January 18 at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. for the Susquehanna Classic.
