NEW ORLEANS - The Bridgewater College men's indoor track and field team is ranked fourth in this week's South-Southeast Region poll released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The men move up from fifth place to fourth this week after a solid weekend for the sprinters at the VMI Winter Relays. Senior Tyler Beiler and sophomore Jacob Wright jump into regional rankings in the 60 meter dash. Beiler crossed the line with a time of 7.12 seconds, which ranks him seventh in the region, while Wright finished right behind Beiler with a time of 7.13 seconds, placing him eighth in the region.
Bridgewater holds 184.31 points and sits 11 points ahead of fifth place Mary Washington. Fellow ODAC team Lynchburg College strongly holds first place with 337.94 points.
The Eagles will be back in action this weekend as the athletes compete for the ODAC individual and team title at Liberty University in Lynchburg on Friday. Championship meet field events are set to start at noon and the track events will start around 3 p.m.
