Men's Track and Field Moves to #3 in South/Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS – The Bridgewater College men's track and field team improved to #3 in the second release of the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional rankings on Tuesday.

In its previous meet at the Patriot Games, Bridgewater produced top three efforts in four events against DI and DII athletes to place fourth in the team standings with 54 total points.

Darin Council cracked the top 10 in the NCAA Division III triple jump charts, recording a PR leap of 14.41m (47-3.50ft) for the #6 spot.

Alex Galloway clocked the fastest 400-meter time in the ODAC at 50.52 seconds. The time also stands #33 in Division III. Brandon Christian ran a PR time in the 200-meter to rank #2 in the conference at 22.88 seconds.

Christian also set the second-best conference mark in the triple jump on a leap of 14.03m (46-0.50ft).

During the pole vault, Jordan Weatherwax cleared 4.00m (13-1.50ft) at the Patriot Games for another #2 mark in the ODAC.

The Eagles will take the weekend off and return to action on Feb. 10-11 at the Roanoke Invitational in Salem, Va.
