Eagles Run at Hopkins in Final Tuneup for ODACs

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team had its final preparation for the ODAC championships, competing at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.

Jordon Weatherwax was second overall in the pole vault, clearing 3.80m/12'5.5.

In the hammer throw, Prescott Terrell (48.5m/159'1") and Austin Garlick (45.49m/149'3") placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

On the track, Alex Galloway broke 50 seconds in the 400m with a time of 49.65 to place third. Joshua Smith was 17th in 53.73. Senior Connor Maguder broke four minutes in the metric mile, placing fifth in 3:59.41.

In the 400m hurdles, Christopher Moore placed seventh overall with a time of 58.50.

Brandon Christian was 10th in the 100 meters (11.09), with Donovan Hollins (11.28) in 17th and Richard Wojno (11.30) in 19th. Hollins was also 20th in the 200 meters (23.10).

Johnny Haizel-Cobbina added a 10th-place performance in the 800 meters, in 1:57.18. Shane Gibson was 30th (2:00.30) and Adam Bailey was 33rd (2:01.08).

Freshman Brady Barefoot placed ninth in the triple jump (12.00m/39'4.5") and 13th in the long jump (5.94m/19'6"). Moore placed 11th in the TJ with a leap of 11.98m/39'3.75".

Corey Huffman had a good day in the throwing events, placing eighth in the shot put (13.23m/43'5") and 10th in the javelin (46.65m/153'1").

Terrell was 10th in the shot put (13.11m/43'0.25") and Tyler Russell was 21st (11.60m/38'0.75"). Russell also placed 19th in the javelin (41.40m/135'10"), with Barefoot placing 21st (38.70m/127'0"­­).

Bridgewater will compete next at the ODAC championships in Lexington, next Friday and Saturday.
