Men’s Cross Country Team Takes the Runner-up Spot in Preseason Poll

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The men's cross country team takes the runner-up spot in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) coaches' preseason polls with two first place votes and a total of 86 points.

Luke Sohl finished third at the ODAC Championship last year and is back as a sophomore.  Ryan Speray, Tim Miller, and Abe Rittenhouse are all top runners back for the Eagles and are hungry for the ODAC title this year. The returning team and six newcomers are ready for the season because of their third place ODAC finish and fifth place finish during the South/Southeast regional championship during the 2011 season.

Lynchburg College takes the first place seed with 98 points and has won the ODAC title for the past four years. The Eagles are not far behind the Lynchburg Hornets. Roanoke College is ranked third and 2011 ODAC Champion runner-up, Guilford College, has dropped to the number four position.

The Bridgewater Eagles men's cross country team starts off their season Friday, August 31, at Peak View Elementary School for the EMU Invitational. The start time is scheduled for 4:45p.m.
