Men’s Cross Country Ranked No. 4 in Regional Polls


NEW ORLEANS – The Bridgewater men's cross country team remains ranked fourth in the South/Southeast Regional polls released on Tuesday afternoon by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Eagles placed fourth on Saturday at the Christopher Newport University Invitational in Newport News, Va. at Lee Hall Mansion. The 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year Luke Sohl placed second with a time of 25:25, which is currently the top time in the ODAC.

Lynchburg College jumped from fifth place to second, bumping Trinity (Texas) to number three. Christopher Newport University slips into the number five spot and Rhodes drops from third to seventh place. Emory remains number one, while Roanoke College sits in the 10th place wrapping up the poll.

The next event for the men's cross country team is October 2, the ODAC Championship in Harrisonburg, Va. at Peak View Elementary School at 12 p.m.
