Eagles receive NCAA softball bid
The Bridgewater College Eagles received an at-large bid to the
NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. The 59-team field was
announced Monday morning.
The Eagles will play in a seven-team region hosted by Salisbury
University.
The Eagles will play Christopher Newport in a first-round game
Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Bridgewater swept two games from the
Captains during the regular season.
ODAC rival Lynchburg is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and
receives a first-round bye. The other first-round matchups include
No. 2 Salisbury vs. No. 7 Neumann College and No. 3 Emory
University vs. No. 6 LaGrange.
