Hopson joins softball staff as assistant coach
Bridgewater College head softball coach Donnie Fulk has
announced that Cara Colbert Hopson will join his staff as an
assistant coach for the 2010 season.
Hopson played her high school softball at nearby Turner Ashby where
she was a four-time all-district selection and a team captain. She
was also a two-time all-region pick and was also named to the
all-state team once. She played in the Virginia High School
Coaches' Association All-Star game following her senior season.
Hopson attended Virginia Tech and played softball for one season.
She graduated from Tech in 2000 with bachelor degrees in animal and
poultry science and agricultural and applied economics. She is
currently working on her master's in career and technical education
at Virginia Tech.
From 2003-07, Hopson was a teacher and coach at Luray High School.
She was the junior varsity coach for two years and the head varsity
coach for two seasons.
Hopson currently works for Big Brothers, Big Sisters as a match
support specialist and events coordinator.
