Lamb Named ODAC Softball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – After hitting at a .545 clip at the plate and driving in a team-high eight runs on the week, Bridgewater College junior third baseman Melanie Lamb earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week honors.

Lamb was solid at the plate last week, helping to lead the 15th-ranked Bridgewater Eagles softball team to a 3-1 week on the diamond.

The junior went 6-of-11 at the plate with three runs scored and eight RBI to lead the Eagles at the plate. Lamb exploded in Bridgewater's 6-2 victory at Lynchburg with a 2-for-3 effort with a double and four RBI.

On the year, Lamb leads the Eagles and is ranked fourth in the ODAC with 28 RBI and is tied for thirdin the league in walks with 14.

Lamb and the rest of the Eagles are back in action on Wednesday when Shenandoah comes to town. First pitch of the non-conference twinbill with the Hornets is set for 3:30 p.m.
