Five Players Named to NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete List

2012 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete List

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  – After achieving a 3.50 GPA or higher during the 2011-12 academic year, five Bridgewater Eagles softball players were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete list.

Junior Brea Hinegardner, senior Morgan Williams and May graduates Ann Komara, Hillary Rees and Summer Ramsey were named to the list of the top softball student-athletes in Division III.

Thousands of student-athletes representing almost 600 different academic institutions were named to the list.

The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.  The honor marks the second component of the Association's academic award program.  Back in late October, the squads with the highest GPAs in each membership category were recognized as 2012 NFCA Top Ten All-Academic Teams.

Bridgewater opens the 2013 season on February 23 at the 3N2 Invitational, hosted by Emory University in suburban Atlanta.
