Swimmers place fourth at R-MC Invitational
The Bridgewater College swim team finished fourth out of
seven teams at the Randolph-Macon Invitational, held Friday and
Saturday.
The host Yellow Jackets, one of the powers in the ODAC, won the
meet with 690 points, followed by Division II Millersville with
512.5 points and Division I Radford with 502.5.
The Eagles were fourth with 157 points, followed by Hood with 90,
College of Notre Dame with 84 and Salem College with 49.
The Eagles turned in several Top 10 efforts during the meet. Morgan
Cordle placed 10th in the 500-yard freesytle and sixth in the
1650-yard freestyle, Katie Schlemm was 10th in the 100-yard
breaststroke and 10th in the 400-yard individual medley, Amanda
Everhart placed ninth in the 400-yard IM, Lauren Clague was ninth
in 100-yard freestyle and seventh in the 200-yard butterfly and
Lauren Gladish finished ninth in the 1650-yard freestyle.
BC's best relay results were a third in the 800-yard freestyle
relay and a sixth in the 400-yard medley relay. Finishing with a
time of 9:13.20 in the 800-yard freestyle relay were Gladish,
Schlemm, Cordle and Clague. Swimming the medley relay in a time of
4:55.23 were Everhart, Lauren Clymore, Amber Hoover and Sophie
Thomas.
