BC Swimmers Dominate Emory & Henry 121-53

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – In the team’s first home meet of the season, the Bridgewater Eagles swim team turned in a convincing 121-53 victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Emory & Henry at Nininger Pool.
Bridgewater won all but two events on the afternoon to earn the squad’s first dual meet victory of the young season.
As has been the case all season long, the trio of Lauren Clague, Danielle Dillon and Sophie Thomas were dominating for the Eagles with two individual event victories a piece. The trio also each swam a leg of BC’s runner-up finishing 200 meter freestyle relay.
Clague won the 100 meter butterfly and the 200 meter freestyle, while Dillon was victorious in the 400 and 800 meter freestyle races. Thomas, a freshman, won the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events.
Other winners for the Eagles included sophomore Lauren Clymore in the 100 meter backstroke and freshman Jeni Zeiler in the 200 meter intermediate medley.
Bridgewater is back in action next Saturday, January 16 when the team travels to Randolph-Macon for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet with the Yellow Jackets.
