Bridgewater Swimmers Split Against Sweet Briar and Hollins

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – On a cold and brisk evening in the Old Dominion State, the Bridgewater Eagles swim team split a tri-meet with visiting Sweet Briar and Hollins, defeating Hollins while falling to the Vixens.
Bridgewater defeated Hollins by an 86-9 tally, while falling to Sweet Briar by a 63-32 score.
Danielle Dillon and Sophie Thomas continued an impressive 2009-10 season, as the tandem each won and individual event.
Dillon was victorious in the 400 freestyle (4:56.57) event and finished in the runner-up spot in the 800 freestyle (10:17.13).
Thomas won the 50 freestyle (30.01) and finished second in the 100 freestyle (1:05.88) race.
The tandem also swam on BC's runner-up finishing 400 meter freestyle relay squad, with Thomas swimming the lead leg while Dillon swam the anchor leg.
Bridgewater also turned in a number of other individual second place performances.
Lauren Clague (200 freestyle, 2:21.79), Lauren Clymore (200 IM, 2:59.60), Lauren Gladish (400 freestyle, 5:25.34) and Jeni Zeiler (100 breaststroke, 1:25.98) each picked up second place finishes.
Bridgewater is back in action starting February 12 when the squad competes in the ODAC Championships at Radford.
