BC Swimmers in Fourth Place After Day Two of ODAC Championships

RADFORD, Va. - After two days of competition at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) swimming championships, the Bridgewater Eagles are in fourth place out of seven teams with 187 total points.

During the second day of competition, a pair of relays turned in fourth place finishes to help solidify the Eagles in the four-spot.

BC finished in a time of 2:10.46 in the 200 yard medley relay, which kicked off the day before wrapping the day up with an identical fourth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle event with a finishing time of 8:51.31.

In the individual events, junior Laura Alstadt led the way for the Eagles with a seventh place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Alstadt touched in with a time of 1:19.16.

Junior Lauren Clague (2:02.47) finished eighth in the 200 yard freestyle race, while freshman Jeni Zeiler turned in a ninth place finish in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 5:17.23.

Sophomores Amber Hoover and Sophie Thomas each turned in 10th place finishes. Hoover finished with a time of 1:13.20 in the 100 yard butterfly race while Thomas touched in at the 1:10.28 mark.

The meet is being hosted in conjunction with the Atlantic States meet with an overall field of 10 teams.

Washington and Lee is the overall leader after day two with 715 points. Randolph-Macon is in a distant second place with 377 points, while Sweet Briar is right behind the Yellow Jackets with 355 points. 

Bridgewater wraps up the 2010 ODAC Championships tomorrow.
