Swimmers Selected to Finish Fourth

SALEM, Va. – In voting conducted among the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) conference coaches, the Bridgewater Eagles swim team was selected to finish fourth in the conference during the 2010-11 season.

Bridgewater, now in its fourth year of swimming, finished in the number four spot at last year's ODAC Championships, held at Radford University.

The Eagles return a plethora of athletes to the mix in 2010, including a laundry list of swimmers who aided the Eagles in rewriting the record books in 2010.

Sophomores Danielle Dillon and Jeni Zeiler combined to set 11 individual records and nine relay standards.  The second-year duo heads a roster that features 13 underclassmen, including nine freshmen.

Washington and Lee was selected to repeat in 2010-11 as the conference champions. The Generals won their 20th team title a year ago and picked up six of the seven first-place votes in the poll.

Randolph-Macon claimed the runner-up spot after a strong season in 2009-10. The Yellow Jackets picked up one first place vote in the poll.

Sweet Briar, Bridgewater and Hollins round out the top five.

Bridgewater opens the 2010-11 season this weekend at Washington and Lee when its takes part in the ODAC relays.
