Swimmers Finish Fourth at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – On a record-setting day at the ODAC Relays, the Bridgewater Eagles swim team tallied 207 points en route to a fourth place team finish.

Bridgewater snapped the 3x50 yard butterfly relay record with a 1:31.92 finish, good enough for fourth place. Freshman Jessica Abbott posted a 29.65 split to lead the relay.

In the 3x50 yard backstroke relay, the trio of Carrie Crowther, Maggy Sullivan and Lauren Clymore finished in a time of 1:40.72 to set the squads second record of the day. Crowther's lead-leg 30.50 second time led the squad, which finished fourth in the event.

Bridgewater posted a third-place finish in the 3x50 yard breaststroke relay, with a time of 1:50.60, before finishing fourth in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a 4:03.65 finish.

The Eagles snapped the 500 yard freestyle relay with a finishing time of 5:28.94, good enough for fourth place overall.

In the 200 yard medley relay, the Eagles finished fourth in a time of 2:10.47, before posting a fourth-place finishing time of 1:12.86 in the 100 yard dolphin kick relay.

The quartet of Simone Conyers, Laura Aldstadt, Clymore and Crowther placed the Eagles to another fourth-place finish, this time in the 200 yard freestyle relay, with a time of 1:58.13.

Finally, Bridgewater finished third in the 3x100 yard medley relay in a time of 3:32.66 to set a new school record, before posting a 1:48.13 in the 8x25 yard freestyle relay to set a new school record in the event.

In all, the Eagles set five new relay records on the day.

Washington and Lee was victorious, with 360 points. Randolph-Macon and Sweet Briar finished second and third, respectively.

Bridgewater is back in action on Friday, October 29 when the Eagles travel to Emory & Henry. Action against the Wasps is slated for 6:00 p.m.
