Swim Team Falls 130-72 at Sweet Briar

AMHERST, Va. – Sweet Briar won all but two races as the Bridgewater Eagles swim team fell on the road in the regular season finale by a 130-72 to drop their first ODAC dual meet of the year.

Sweet Briar won the first five events of the night, before freshman Carrie Crowther claimed a victory in the 100 meter butterfly event. Crowther claimed the race with a time of 1:14.11.

Over the next four events, the Vixens claimed victories before Bridgewater rounded out the meet with a victory in the 200 meter freestyle relay. The Eagles took home the win in the event in a time of 2:02.51. Bridgewater broke the school record in the event along the way, topping the old mark by .34 seconds. 

Sophomores Jeni Zeiler and Danielle Dillon took home a pair of second place finishes each.

Bridgewater is back in action on February 11 when the team travels to the Christiansburg Aquatic Facility to take part in the 2011 ODAC/Mid-Atlantic State Championships.
