Myers Earns ODAC Swimmer of the Week Honor

FOREST, Va. - Freshman Shannon Myers won two individual events and aided the Eagles to a relay victory to lead the Bridgewater Eagles swim team to a tri-meet victory and pick up Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swimmer of the Week honors.

Myers helped propel the Bridgewater Eagles swim team to a tri-meet sweep of Guilford and Greensboro. Myers set a new school record in the 100 butterfly and took first in the 100 back and 200 medley relay.

In the 100 butterfly event, Myers set a new standard with a 1:05.62 en route to victory. Myers swam the butterfly leg of the medley relay and her performance helped make up ground and propelled the Eagles to victory.

The weekly conference award is the first of Myers career, and the first of the season for the Eagles.

Bridgewater is back in action on November 19 when it travels to Ashland for the Randolph-Macon Invitational.
