Eagles Sweep Double-Dual

SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team swept a double-dual meet on Wednesday.

The Eagles defeated host Sweet Briar 157-39, and Ferrum 153-31.

Bridgewater won all 11 events, including two consecutive 1-2-3 sweeps. Those came in the 100 free (Emma Daw- 1:04.14, Genevieve Young- 1:10.34, Jordan Back- 1:10.47) and 100 back (Laurel Glover- 1:18.52, Back- 1:21.09, Jennifer Hess- 1:21.91).

The Eagles also went 1-2 in five other events, led by victories from Olivia Heeb-Wade in the 800 free (10:27.08) and 100 breast (1:27.08). Glover and Taylor Berard were second in the 800 free and 100 breast, respectively.

Rachael King was first in both the 100 IM (1:17.46) and 400 free (5:09.54), ahead of Hess in the 100 IM and Morgan Beauregard in the 400 free.

In the 50 free, Daw was first (29.02) and Walmer was second (29.99). Kelley Hilliker touched first in both the 100 fly (1:15.31) and 200 free (2:22.47).

The Eagles also won both relays- the 200 medley relay (Beauregard, Emma Bashline, Young, Walmer- 2:26.76) and 200 free relay (Hilliker, Daw, Glover, Heeb-Wade- 2:01.71).

Bridgewater (6-1, 6-1 ODAC) will have one more meet this semester- at the Yellow Jacket Invitational from December 1-2.
