Women's Swimming Sets Two School Records at ODACs

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team set two school records at the opening night of the 2018 ODAC championships.

Sophomore Emma Daw lowered her own mark in the 200 IM finals, placing sixth in 2:13.48. Rachael King was 13th in 2:19.83.

Daw and King also teamed up with Jenna Walmer and Kaitlyn Hilliker to set a new school record in the 400 medley relay (4:05.65), placing third overall.

In the 200 free relay, Daw, Walmer, Jordan Back and Kelley Hilliker were fifth in 1:43.06.

In the 50 free B final, Back placed 12th (26.47) and Taylor Berard finished 16th (28.19). Laurel Glover finished 16th in the 500 free, with a time of 5:43.56.

BC is fifth in the team standings with 84 points, two points back of fifth-place Roanoke.

In Friday morning's prelims, Emily Carr was 18th in the 200 IM in 2:26.32 and Jennifer Hess was 20th in 2:43.40.

Competing in the 50 free prelims were Jessy Wilson (18th, 27.81), Emma Bashline (21st, 29.64), Haley Saunders (23rd, 30.35) and Sydney Bright (37th, 36.58).

Kate Hilliker was 18th in the 500 free prelims (5:51.53).

Action resumes tomorrow morning with prelims in the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back.
