Eagles Match Best-Ever ODAC Finish

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team held off Emory & Henry to match their best ever conference finish, placing third overall.

The Eagles' 365 points outpaced the Wasps (337) and Roanoke (294).

Olivia Heeb-Wade, Laurel Glover, Emily Carr and Emma Daw finished off the meet by placing fifth in the 400 free relay (3:50.07).

Four Eagles scored in the 200 back finals, including Kelley Hilliker in fifth at 2:12.83. Swimming in the B final were Carr (11th, 2:20.48), Morgan Beauregard (13th, 2:24.11) and Kaitlyn Hilliker (15th, 2:29.39).

Three BC swimmers placed in the 200 fly, including Rachael King in fifth place (2:15.89). Genevieve Young (2:24.15) was eighth, and Jordan Back (2:36.10) placed 12th.

Young placed 13th in the 100 free in 58.35, and Jenna Walmer was 13th in the 200 breast in 2:43.71.

In the 1650 free, Heeb-Wade (19:21.73) placed 10th, Glover (20:03.80) placed 14th, and Kate Hilliker (20:21.65) was 15th.

Jessy Wilson (21st, 1:03.27) and Sydney Bright (31st, 1:19.27) competed in the 100 free prelims.

Jennifer Hess was 19th in the 200 back in 2:35.72, while Emma Bashline finished 23rd in the 200 breast (3:14.25).
