Bridgewater College sophomore Jordan Burkholder has been named
honorable mention on the VaSID All-State College Division women's
basketball team.
Burkholder paced the Eagles and ranked No. 3 in the ODAC in scoring
with a 15.2 average. She helped lead the Eagles to the ODAC
Championship game for the second straight year. Burkholder also
ranked No. 3 in the conference in free throw percentage and No. 1
in the conference in steals.
Named to the all-state first team was Player of the Year Chelsie
Schweers from Christopher Newport, Ferrum's Tonya Wright and
Randolph-Macon's Molly Ariail, Amanda Hultunen and Lindsay
Riesbeck.
Joining Burkholder on the honorable mention team were Mary
Washington’s Katy Larson and Ashton Mitchell,
Apprentice’s Rahshann Lewter, and Roanoke’s Caitlyn
Long. CNU's Carolyn Hunter was named Coach of the Year and
Washington and Lee's Meghan Ingram was named Rookie of the Year.
