SALEM, Va. – After averaging 22.5 points per game on the week and leading the Bridgewater Eagles women’s basketball team to a road win at Randolph-Macon, junior Jordan Burkholder has been named the ODAC Player of the Week.
Burkholder got the week kicked off with a 17 point effort in Bridgewater’s 75-42 victory at Nininger Hall over Virginia Wesleyan.
Sunday against the No. 2 team in the ODAC, Burkholder poured in 19 points in the second half to lead the Eagles to their first victory at Randolph-Macon in nearly six years.
On the week, Burkholder tallied 45 points while shooting 60% (18-of-30) from the field.
Currently, Burkholder sits in 11th place all-time on the career scoring list with 1,122 points. The Turner Ashby grad needs just 49 more points to climb into the career top ten.
Burkholder and the rest of the Eagles are back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, when Eastern Mennonite visits Nininger Hall. Tip-off with the Royals is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Virginia Health Department will be offering an H1N1 Vaccine Clinic at the game.
