FOREST, Va. - Senior guard Jessica Mullen averaged 19.5 points per game and netted her 1,000th career point as she helped the Bridgewater Eagles to a perfect week in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play and earn ODAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
The honor is the first of the season for Mullen and her fourth time being named conference Player of the Week during her stellar career.
In Wednesday's win at Lynchburg College, Mullen scored 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting and dished out four assists to help knock the Hornets from the ranks of the unbeaten in league play with a 52-50 win on the road.
Mullen added to her weekly total with a stellar performance in Saturday's victory over Emory & Henry. The Purcellville, Va. native scored 17 second-half points and sparked a 22-0 second-half run for the Eagles as Bridgewater cruised to a 65-55 win over the Wasps. Mullen tallied 26 points in the victory to put her at 1,002 career points. She becomes just the 18th player in program history to scored more than 1,000 points.
For her career accomplishments, Mullen will be honored prior to Monday evening's contest in Nininger Hall against Mary Baldwin College.
